How to create a Wi-Fi QR code
A Wi-Fi QR code encodes your network name, security type and password in a standard format that iOS and Android both understand, so scanning it joins the network with no typing. Because the password is inside the code, generate it with a tool that never sends it anywhere — QR Studio does it entirely in your browser.
The usual way
- 1Find an online Wi-Fi QR generator and open it.
- 2Type your network name and your Wi-Fi password into a form on their website.
- 3Pick WPA/WPA2 as the encryption type and generate the code.
- 4Download the image and print it for your guests.
Where that falls short
- You just typed your Wi-Fi password into a web form. Even where the site claims to work client-side, you have no way to verify it, and the page can change at any time without you noticing.
- Printable output is the whole point of a Wi-Fi code — and that is usually where the free tier stops, leaving you with a small PNG that looks soft on a laminated card.
